Mehi and Taynah - Tuakana Teina with Room 1

On Monday the whole school had Tuakana Teina which is a day where the senior students buddy up with a junior class and do fun activites. The class we had was Room 1 and my Buddy was Taynah. We both made healthy sandwiches and talked about how we can be healthy.

The highlight for me was getting to work with a younger student because they're just so fun and CUTE!

Today my class had Tuakana Teina with Room's 1 and 2. For Tuakana Teina us year 8's had to use our imaginations and create a game that noone has created or played. The game I created is called Slodgeball. The instructions are in the presentation above. It was great fun playing with the students and some even said that our game was the BEST!

Mehi and Lino - How the Tiger got its Stripes - Tuakana Teina

This is a DLO(Digital, Learning, Object) that I have created with my buddy Lino. This task was part of our Tuakana Teina day(which is a day with our buddy class). My class' buddy class is Room 1. We watched a story called 'How the Tiger got his Stripes'. Me and my buddy found this story quite interesting, but in the end we were convinced!

Mehi - Tuakana Teina - Room 1

Today for the morning Miss Barlow's class which is room 1 came into room 8 and did some writing. We had to buddy up with somebody. My buddy was my little brother Lino. He was a great partner. We had to create a sea creature with our imagination and describe it. Our sea creature was called 'Candy Monster'. It was called that because it loved to eat candy and because it lived on candy island too. It was wonderful to have room one in room 8 especially when we all learned a new song call the kaimoana song it went like this:
